Our friend Bob Ditter , a child and family therapist from Boston and frequent speaker and contributor to the American Camping Association has been visiting camp this week. I first met Bob in 1986 when I was teaching at a girls’ boarding school in New Jersey. Since then we have stayed connected through professional circles and always enjoy catching up and sharing stories and he has led many of our staff orientation sessions over the years. When we learned of his visit we called on him to volunteer by leading a morning workshop for the local EPIC (Emerging Professionals in Camping), a group of young camp directors in western North Carolina. Gardner, Lindsey and Dave took part in the session where Bob shared candid stories and answered questions. We love seeing this veteran camp professional connect with the young generation of directors and are fortunate to have his insight for our Illahee family!
