Illahee horsemanship girls (and all Illahee riders), I bet you have been wondering who would be joining Bianca, Jennifer Ruff and Angie Cormack (all mentioned in previous posts) on the riding staff. Today’s your 5×5 day! We are super excited about our barn staff and can’t wait for you to meet them all. Until then, enjoy a sneak preview!

Kim Ellison – Kim joins Illahee’s riding staff  for her first summer. She learned about camp from Jean Miers, Illahee riding staff member. Kim will be a junior at App State and rides on the Equestrian team with Jean.  Originally from Herndon, Virginia, Kim is thrilled to be coming to Illahee with her horse, Casey, and is eager to get to know the campers and enjoy a summer at the barn.

Laura Mowery – Laura learned about Illahee from Kim Ellison and is looking forward to her first year as a member of the riding staff. Laura also grew up in Virginia and is a biology major at George Mason University. She will be bringing her horse, Chase, to camp and is really excited to be spending the summer with the campers and counselors  at Illahee.

Leah Petrowski – Leah learned about Illahee from former riding staff member, Sonia Bruck. She is a rising senior at Appalachian State. Along with being an active member of the equestrian club at App, Leah is a former ice hockey player (having grown up in New Hampshire) and an apparel and textiles major. She is hoping to own a boutique one day, making enough money, of course, to own horses!

Rachel Mooney – Rachel joins the Illahee staff from Pennsylvania where she grew up and goes to school. A rising junior at Westminster College, Rachel is a biology and pre-vet major.  She plans on being a large animal veterinarian. She is presently a member of the Westminster equestrian team and looks forward to sharing her love of horses with our campers!

Anastacia George – Anastacia grew up in Auburn , AL and will be a rising sophomore at Lander University in Greenwood, SC. She brings a great deal of riding experience to Illahee, most recently as a member of the Lander equestrian team.  Anastacia is a hard worker and spends much of her time at the barn. We are pleased to have her as a member of our riding staff!
