Welcome Baby Ezra! That's Right! It's a Boy!

I'll have to admit I have been procrastinating. It is that time of year. Fall has come to the Heavenly World and the colors are as amazing as I have seen in these beautiful mountains. After a nightly blog all summer long, I find myself looking at the keyboard and trying to think about what is new and noteworthy...and then, I waited so long because I knew that bigger news was coming soon. I had an excuse! Well, no more excuses! On Tuesday, October 17th, Associate Director Gretchen Greene and husband Gary welcomed baby Ezra Walker Alfred Greene into this world. Though it was not the easiest of entries, mom and baby are doing well and should be home from the hospital in a couple of days. Proud Uncle Gordon has made several trips to Asheville, and super-camp nurse Heather Stalker (who moonlights in the off-season as a Neo-natal nurse)is keeping an extra eye on Ezra as he gains some pounds and strength to make the journey back to Brevard. I think we should put Illahee Kitchen Guru Nancy McCrory on that job. She'll fatten him up in no time! He tipped the scales at a whopping 5 1/2 pounds at delivery...
So all of the girls in the office are really jealous of me as they are out with you guys showing the new Illahee video! Can you believe that they leave me to hold down the office? Hee hee...it's a lot more fun visiting all those babies in the nursery! Actually, I do get to go to Dallas, Houston, Memphis and Nashville next week with a weekend trip to NYC to meet Laurie and the kids for an Illahee showing and some tooling around the Big Apple. Word has it that there are a bunch of excited Illahee girls out there! Be sure and come to the movies if there is a date near you. We hear it's the BEST movie yet! Stay tuned for more pictures when Ezra gets home...
Oh yeah, why Ezra you ask? Well, good question. Ezra is a friend of Gretchen and Gary's from Lunenberg, Nova Scotia and also a book in the Bible. A seminarian and teacher of religion and all things literary (think Ezra Pound), Gary and Gretchen wanted to make sure there would be no other Ezras in the class. (I think he's safe.)Congratulations!
As always, I'm thinking often of our days together in the Heavenly! Gordon.
