Kris and Soup Get Hitched!

It's the morning after and I am up early sending Laurie off to the airport to catch a plane for Miami. This is the last leg of our travels, and it has been so fun to see so many excited campers and staff all over the east coast from New York to the tip of Florida and all the way west to Dallas and Houston! Every where we go, the news is the same! Camp Illahee means so much to all of us! I can't wait until we are all together again in the Heavenly World united in one big happy family...
The big news here is that Assistant Director Kris Bush is now Kris Campbell! She and former Kayaking Trips Leader Jeremy "Soup" Campbell were married during a beautiful ceremony at the chapel at "Pretty Place" in Cedar Mountain. Guests snuggled together under blankets as we watched the beautiful bride, her wedding party (9 attendants on both sides!), with the entire upstate of South Carolina behind and below them. The leaves are still gorgeous and despite the chill in the air, it was great to celebrate this event with Kris and Soup and so many Illahee firends...definitely the best represented group at the big event.
Check out the picture and you will see some of the Illahee group represented. We were so big that it was hard to get other attendees Day Peery, Frank and Elizabeth Tindall, Kim Aycock, Helen Hull, Tara Cheek, and Betsie Stockslager in the picture as well! But, we did have fun catching up with all of them, cutting a rug on the dance floor, and enjoying fellowship with all of our Illahee friends. Congratulations to Kris and Soup. They will reside here in Brevard after a quick wedding trip.
Also in attendence were Gretchen and Gary Greene. Baby Ezra is home and doing well, gaining weight quickly, and getting to know his surroundings in the Heavenly World! The leaves are beginning to fall, and James and Gordon have been putting the final touches on camp to put it away for the winter...pipes have been drained, gear inventoried and locked up, and lists made that will be back out before we know it...getting ready for the Summer of 2007...the BEST SUMMER EVER!
