2010 Enrollment Squared Away!

Monday, September 28, 2009

Laurie and Gretchen enjoyed a quick trip down to Atlanta this past Sunday to meet and greet campers new and old. After all of the rain that has inundated our part of the southeast the past two weeks, it was fitting that the day was gorgeous for the Illahee movie showings! Thanks to Molly and Emily Mears for the last-minute switch to their beautiful home for the party.

Back at camp, we are getting a handle on 2010 enrollment. We have started waiting lists in some sessions, are offering spots in alternate sessions for some girls, and sending out news to others that is the happiest for a lot of girls to hear...Welcome to Illahee! We do not want to dissuade anyone from applying to camp, especially in this year of a recovering economy. Sometimes waiting lists can move pretty quickly. We are thrilled that we have had more first-time applicants and more total applications than ever before! It seems that everyone wants to come to Illahee!

For the first time this morning, it felt like fall. The temperature had dropped, there were some leaves swirling around on the ground, and just a hint of color near Dunn's Rock beyond the riding pastures. The guys are working on renovating a small house that we purchased next to camp for adult staff housing in the summer. It won't be long before we get our rakes out and start moving leaves.

In the office, we will soon be starting a year-long project to revamp our website. The current one has served us well, but it is time. If you have any favorite sites that you like, send us an email.

Study hard and Think Summer!
