Happy Halloween!
Sunday, October 31, 2004
Hello
Illahee friends! We have had a beautiful week of fall colors and great
weather these last few days. We have all been in the office and around
camp working on various projects, including getting a fall newsletter
together, putting finishing touches on the new DVD, and talking to
lots of staff and prospective campers! The newsletter should be back
from the printer and in the mail to you by Thanksgiving. We will try
to post on on-line version in the next few weeks, so check back often.
There
will be lots of news from alumnae and staff, a bunch of fun pictures,
and information about the 85th anniversary reunion and kick-off to
our summer-long celebration that will occur the weekend of May 13th,
2005. Today is Halloween, and Brevard is the perfect place to dress
up in a funky costume and visit friends downtown on a perfect fall
night. As you can see from the picture on the right, we have all made
our trips down to the costume room, and are ready to go! Email
us a picture of you in your costume and we will try to post it
on the web...Gretchen will head out to Chicago, Nashville, and the
Cincinatti
area this week to visit campers and staff, and Laurie will be in Birmingham
and Memphis before meeting Gordon and the kids in Florida for Tampa,
Clearwater and Bradenton. They will end up in Orlando for a showing
before spending the weekend with Mr. Mouse and friends.(Actually, that
is Gordon's vision, but it will probably be more Universal Studios
and the like than the Magic Kingdom this trip...our kids are growing
up...) We have been thrilled by the numbers of campers at this fall's
showings... Be
sure to check our travel schedule and make sure you come to the showing if we are
in your neck of the woods! Think camp!
