Camp Illahee counselors make a difference giving to others. Camp Illahee is now accepting applications for staff positions. We are seeking enthusiastic, creative, mature individuals who love working with children. We receive a large number of staff applications each year, and we are looking for the very best staff. So, we take the application process a few steps beyond most camps. This includes carefully screening each application, checking all references, doing a background check, and having a thorough interview.
Camp Illahee only seeks staff who want to make personal contributions to the children they serve. You cannot be paid enough to compensate for all the effort and energy you will put into working with your campers. Being a counselor is very much like being a parent - the real reward is knowing you have given a big part of yourself to children; they will carry that with them for the rest of their lives. We look forward to reviewing your application if you are at least 19 years of age by the start of our camp season or have completed your freshmen year in college.
Consumption of alcoholic beverages by minors (under 21) while employed by Camp Illahee is prohibited and is grounds for dismissal. These policies apply to staff during the entire contract period: when on duty, on time off, and between sessions. Smoking or the use of other tobacco products is prohibited anywhere on camp property.
