Illahee offers campers an impressive list of activities covering a broad range of interests. You will never find “being bored” among them! At Illahee, there is a lot going on rain or shine, any time of the day and any day of the week!
Campers choose their ten favorite activities prior to camp, and their schedule is waiting in their cabin when they arrive. The Evening Program calendar with traditional events and new surprises is revealed on opening day. County Fair, Airband and Campfire involve the entire community. Hill group nights include Sliding Rock trips, a cookout at Hannah Ford Farm or a swim party on the lake. Cabins may have an “adventure” together baking cookies, making ice-cream or challenging friends to a game of kickball. Minute to Win-It, skit nights, talent shows and dance parties are other camp evenings with costumes and lots of laughter.
On Sundays, a pajama party breakfast with delicious doughnuts is followed by our Christian worship service in the Woodland Chapel. This special time for reflection and celebrating our community of faith is led by campers and counselors. After a delicious fried chicken lunch, the afternoon cranks up with the camp wide Amazing Race, led by the Sparks, or the Swim Show led by CIT’s and counselors. Sunday evenings’ cookout is followed by campfire skits and songs and time to look forward to the start of a new week of activities.

A Glimpse of Fun
I believe my daughters’ lives can now be measured by “pre-Illahee vs post-Illahee” standards. Both of them were so positively influenced and inspired during their first summer at camp that we are convinced we received better daughters than the ones we left on opening day.

Illahee girls often return to camp for seven and eight summers, and campers are leaders and role models for younger girls. Illahee strives to be a “G- Rated” community and we rely on older girls to model this with their choice of music and conversation. We hear girls talk about camp as the place where they are the “best version of themselves.”
The entering 10th graders are “Sparks” and we count on them to ignite camp spirit. They plan the surprise Final Night for the June and July sessions. Rising 11th graders are the oldest campers. These CIT’s (Counselors In Training) participate in a leadership course led by a director. CIT’s choose to assist in activities and help set up the dining hall. Junior Counselors are high school seniors who have completed the JC staff application and interview process along with staff training. Many of Illahee’s counselors are former campers who love Illahee and want to give back to the community by encouraging their campers with the same spirit of love and support that they experienced.
