White squirrels are easy to spot around here. In fact, our very own White Squirrel Festival is held each Memorial Day in Brevard and is our unofficial summer kick-off. In the last couple of years, we have noticed a few more each season, and this fall has yielded a “bumper crop.” Two siblings are very busy most afternoons right below Cabin 32 on Pineview. Their nest is way up in a tree, where they have been busy helping mom and dad store acorns for the winter. Guess what else has been spotted at camp? A great big Mama Bear and a cute 40 pound cub who was holding on for dear life to a sapling across from the office. I haven’t seen them yet, but am determined to snap a picture if I get the chance!
